Assessment policy
At St. Mary's Co-Ed Senior Secondary School, assessment is conducted in accordance with the CBSE Examination Pattern and the Uniform System of Assessment. Our evaluation process is designed to measure not only academic achievement but also the overall growth, progress, and development of every learner throughout the academic year.
Students are assessed through scholastic and co-scholastic performance, classroom participation, assignments, projects, notebook work, examinations, and continuous observation of their discipline, responsibility, punctuality, and conduct. This comprehensive approach encourages consistent learning, critical thinking, and the holistic development of every child.
Promotion to the next class is granted on the basis of the student's overall academic record and year-round performance, in accordance with CBSE guidelines. A minimum of 33% marks in each subject is required for promotion from Classes I to XII.
Our assessment system follows the CBSE Examination Pattern and Uniform System of Assessment, ensuring that students are evaluated through continuous academic performance as well as their overall development.

In accordance with the CBSE Examination Pattern and the school's assessment policy, students are evaluated not only on their academic achievement but also on their continuous progress, participation, and overall development.
The promotion process takes into account performance in scholastic and co-scholastic subjects, along with classwork, homework, assignments, notebook maintenance, examinations, and essential personal qualities such as discipline, punctuality, responsibility, cooperation, and good conduct.
Parents are regularly informed about their child's academic progress and overall development through report cards, teacher observations, and Parent–Teacher Meetings, ensuring a strong partnership between the school and home in supporting every learner's success.
We encourage students to see examinations not as a source of fear, but as opportunities to demonstrate growth. Consistent effort, regular revision and honest work are the surest paths to success.
